Create a Short Link

Short links take a long URL and give you a clean, trackable link you can share anywhere. Here is how to create your first one:

1. 1From your dashboard, click the 'Create Link' button in the top right corner.
2. 2Paste the destination URL into the 'Destination URL' field. This is the page you want people to land on when they click your link.
3. 3Optionally, enter a custom alias in the 'Custom Alias' field. For example, if you enter 'spring-sale', your link will be lynkd.co/spring-sale. Leave this blank to generate a random short code.
4. 4Add tags to organize your link. Tags help you filter and group links later.
5. 5Click 'Create Link' to generate your short link.

Adding UTM Parameters

UTM parameters help you track where clicks come from in your analytics tools. Lynkd has a built-in UTM builder so you do not need to add parameters manually.

1. 1When creating a link, expand the 'UTM Parameters' section.
2. 2Fill in the source (e.g., twitter), medium (e.g., social), and campaign name (e.g., spring_launch).
3. 3Optionally add content and term parameters for more granular tracking.
4. 4The UTM parameters are appended to your destination URL automatically. Your short link stays clean.

Sharing Your Link

Once created, your short link is ready to share. Copy it from the dashboard and paste it into emails, social media posts, ads, or anywhere else you share URLs. Every click is tracked automatically.
